On January 10th, on the birthday of our patron Melchior Wańkowicz, a ceremonial Gala was held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our high school. This exceptional event brought together many distinguished guests, including Joanna Cesarz-Łężak from the Board of Education in Katowice, Waldemar Bojarun, Vice-President of Katowice, and Senator Joanna Sekuła. We were also honored by the presence of Monika Bajka, President of the "Dom Aniołów Stróżów" Foundation, Jolanta Grabowska-Markowska, President of the Cordis Hospice, Renata Rosowska from the National Forum of Non-Public Education, Dr. Hab. Eugenia Rostańska, Professor at the WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza, as well as Consuls Monika and Artur Nizioł and many other friends of the school.

The official part of the ceremony was filled with speeches, prestigious awards, and heartfelt wishes, but the most solemn moment was the official handover of the new Wańkowicz High School Flag, which will henceforth accompany us during the most important events. The artistic program, prepared by our teachers and students, provided great emotional depth as they performed iconic songs such as "Freedom," "Tyle słońca w całym mieście," "Angel," and "Tolerance." The nostalgic atmosphere was further enhanced by an exhibition of archival photos and a unique portrait of our patron, created from the photographs of our alumni. The evening was completed with a traditional cake, refreshments, and many conversations in the hallways that lasted late into the evening. Principal Jolanta Kałuża expressed deep emotion, thanking everyone for their presence and every word of support received. We thank all the teaching staff for their dedication in preparing this Gala and wish our school many more decades of success in shaping young characters.
