3rd Edition of Physics Contest in English
On Friday before the winter break, 8th February, 2019, the third edition of "Physics Contest in English" took place in Melchior Wańkowicz Private High School.
The contest is Ms Marta Skwarek's idea and has been organized for the third time. It's a great chance for all young, ambitious students who wish to verify their knowledge and skills in the field of physics and English language. It has received a great deal of concrete attention.
More than 100 students from about 30 schools from Silesian Voivodeship participated in the initial stage of the competition. The same test was taken by students from schools in Kiev and Madrid. While the students were struggling with the questions, their teachers participated in workshops conducted by Ms Urszula Górnik-Bednarską.
After the break, when the emotions flat-lined a little, students from 0DP class from Melchior Wańkowicz Private High School presented their campaign "Renewable", prepared as part of the "Released from Theory" campaign, the purpose of which is to familiarize young people with problems such as air pollution, climate changes and perilous plastic waste. Moreover, the students discussed the topic of renewable energy sources - the entire meeting was conducted in English.
The second stage of the contest - the Finals with the invited guests - will take place on Tuesday, March 12th, 2019.
