A memento of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
Our school held a ceremony to mark the anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. To mark the occasion, the pupils, together with their history teacher, Ms Monika Pawłowska, made paper daffodils – a symbol of remembrance for the heroes of those events. These flowers were pinned on by the entire school community as an expression of respect and reflection on history.
However, the commemorations are not limited to a single day. Throughout the week, lessons dedicated to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising will be held at the school, organised in collaboration with the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. The lessons aim to deepen the pupils’ knowledge and foster sensitivity towards historical and social issues.
A special moment today was the presentation of symbolic daffodils to our guests from Finland, who are visiting the school as part of the Erasmus programme. This gesture served as a beautiful expression of remembrance, whilst also providing an opportunity to share history and values with young people from other countries.
