Wyjazd do Poznania_.jpg

On Friday, November 28th, students from the history and art history faculties took part in a full-day educational trip to Poznań to deepen their knowledge of culture and national heritage. It was a journey that combined a lesson on the origins of Polish statehood with exposure to world-class contemporary art.

The trip began with a visit to the National Museum in Poznań, where students had the opportunity to admire the rich collections of Polish and European art.

However, the real magnet for the young art enthusiasts proved to be the Stary Browar Gallery. There, we had the unique chance to see a temporary exhibition dedicated to the works of the legendary pop-art artist, Andy Warhol. This extraordinary experience allowed students direct contact with icons of contemporary culture, such as portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Campbell's soup cans.

The second part of the trip was dedicated to the historical heart of Poznań. We visited the Poznań Archcathedral, which is considered the oldest temple in Poland, and according to some theories, it was here that the Baptism of Poland may have taken place.

In the crypts of the cathedral, which serve as the necropolis for the first Polish rulers, we paid tribute to Mieszko I and Bolesław the Brave, admiring their tombs. It was a vivid, moving lesson on the beginnings of statehood that no textbook can replace.

In addition to the intensive educational program, students also had time for a walk around the picturesque Poznań Old Town.

Thank you for your active participation in the trip, and we invite you to view the photo gallery from our expedition, which fully captures the atmosphere of this historical and artistic day!
