ECNAIS Seminar in Katowice
From November 21st to 23rd, an extraordinary event, co-organized by our Complex of Schools, took place in Katowice. Our Headmistress, Ms Jolanta Kałuża, was the initiator of this international enterprise in the heart of Upper Silesia. The seminar was endorsed by ECNAIS, an organization which associates national unions and boards of non-public education from many European countries. The event, organized with the help of National Board of Non-Public Education, gathered participants from Poland, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, The Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, and the UK. The meeting was commenced by the ceremony of the eleventh anniversary of Complex of Silesian International Schools. The Guests participated in a magnificent show prepared by the students and teachers from the international school. The conference took place in Diamant Arsenal Palace hotel in Chorzów and was entitled "The Growth of Independent Schools. A School Open for the Challenges of Tomorrow". Among the speakers were: Ms Marzena Żylińska, PhD, who propagates the idea of Waking Up School, and Mr Marek Kaczmarzyk, PhD, a neurobiologist and an author of handbooks and curricula. The schedule of the third day included visits to schools. The Guests visited Maria Skłodowska-Curie Private Primary School in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Complex of Silesian International Schools, Private Primary School "Szkoła jak Dom", and Social Primary School in Chorzów. During the gala dinner, Mr Sylwester Targosz-Szalonek performed a recital. The Participants rated the seminar very high in all fields, on basis of content, and including organization along with the side events. We can be proud, but also very grateful and thankful to all those who supported us in creating this extraordinary event with their entanglement and their presence.
