Educational trip of high school students
On April 11, 2022, students of high school 1 and 0DP II classes, together with their teachers, took part in an educational trip to Krakow and Oświęcim. The program included a guided walk around Kazimierz - the Jewish district of Krakow. We saw, among others: the Old Synagogue, the former Jewish mikveh, a monument dedicated to Krakow's Jews murdered during World War II. The next point was a visit to the Synagogue and the Remuh Cemetery. Then we went to Plac Nowy - a former Jewish poultry slaughterhouse. Then we went to the characteristic courtyard at Józefa 12 Street, where scenes from the movie "Schindler's List" were filmed. We walked to Plac Wolnica - the former market square of Kazimierz. The next item on the agenda was a three-hour visit to the Auschitz-Birkenau Museum. We got to know the history of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. The day was a history lesson and an opportunity to ask existential questions.
