High school students from Witosa Street cleaned up the local forest
On Wednesday, just before the upcoming holidays, the forest area in the Witosa district gained a new lease on life. Zosia, Antek, and Maks—first-grade high school students carrying out a project as part of the "Zwolnieni z Teorii" (Exempt from Theory) competition, titled "Las w okolicy" (Forest in the Neighborhood)—organized a major cleanup operation.
Thanks to their determination and the engagement of the local community, a significant amount of waste that had been marring this important recreational spot for residents was removed. The young activists' initiative was noticed by representatives of the local authorities. Katowice City Councilor, Mr. Patryk Białas, personally took part in the event.
"It is a huge honor for us and a motivation for further action," emphasize the project authors. The support of public figures shows how important it is to care for our shared natural environment. We would like to thank the councilor for his presence, and all the participants for their hard work. Such attitudes prove that the young generation has a real impact on the reality that surrounds us.
