On May 28, we had the great pleasure of hosting Marina Hulia at our school. She is an exceptional person who has been helping those most in need for years. This is the third visit of our dear friend, who has touched the hearts of students and teachers with her presence and stories.

Marina Hulia – a teacher by vocation, volunteer and winner of many prestigious awards, including the Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the Irena Sendler Award “For Repairing the World” – has been living in Poland among Chechen refugees for 25 years. Her story is an example of courage, empathy and tireless work for the benefit of others.

During the meeting, Marina talked about her activities for Chechen families who used to camp at the Brest train station, where in 2016 she founded the Democratic School for children and their mothers. Currently, together with Mothers and Children from the Brest Train Station, she supports the elderly and lonely people in a nursing home in Radość, as well as people in the homelessness crisis.

The meeting was also an opportunity to watch an episode of the series "Migranci" with Marina. The series, produced by Cyfrowy Polsat S.A. for the Polsat Box Go service, presents in a moving way the stories of people searching for a new home and safety. The creator, scriptwriter and director of all episodes is Bartosz Wróblewski, who also honored us with his presence at school.

Marina brought her books with her: the well-known "Dzieci z Dworca Brześć" and the new title "Pomagajki", which could be purchased during the meeting. The income from the sale supports Chechen families and aid activities.

This meeting was not only a lesson in empathy and sensitivity for us, but also a reminder of the great power of kindness and acting with the heart.

Thank you, Marina, for being with us again! We also thank Mr. Bartosz Wróblewski for the inspiring meeting. We are waiting for the next one!
