“Monet and Friends” at the Wilson Shaft Gallery
Our high school students had the opportunity to participate in an extraordinary event – visiting the exhibition "Monet and Friends" at the Wilson Shaft Gallery, dedicated to the French Impressionists. The exhibition, full of multimedia experiences, introduced students to the world of artists who revolutionized art in 1874. Thanks to VR goggles, atmospheric music, fragments of artists' diaries and reproductions of their works, our students were able to get to know painting techniques and the way of using color up close, which allowed them to better understand this influential trend in art. The exhibition was also a valuable opportunity to prepare for the final exam, as impressionism is a common topic in the context of cultural texts.
