The "City" project in Krakow
As part of the interdisciplinary project "City" carried out in our high school as part of Geography, Social Studies, and History and the Present lessons, we organized a trip to Krakow, which gave our students the opportunity to experience history personally. During the day-long journey through the streets of the Old Town, Kazimierz, and Nowa Huta, students saw live urban planning assumptions resulting from the city's location law, which today make up the common organism of Krakow. The trip was led by a professional guide. Students visited the modern museum "Rynek Underground", where guides and a multimedia exhibition showed the fantastic history of the city, its inhabitants, culture, tradition, customs, and the entire structure which places Krakow in the center of a medieval and modern city of commerce and even the Hanseatic League, to which the second capital of Poland belonged . This is the first part of the project which will be continued during workshop lessons, individual works prepared by students, and another trip, this time to Gdańsk, but all this is still ahead of us!
