Discovering the world with the Explorer's Academy
Tony Halik Explorer's Academy cordially invites all students, from pre-school to high school, to participate in five amazing meetings entitled "From Benedykt Polak to Aleksander Doba", prepared to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Polish independence. The meetings will be dedicated to great Polish discoverers - mountain climbers, cavers, divers, sailors, and kayakers who reached the unknown lands first.
The meetings take place at school and encompass 10 lessons taught in the form of lectures, workshops, and role-playing games. The lecturers of the Explorer's Academy are notable voyagers:
Marek Tomalik - a journalist, a writer, an expert in the field of Australia, who traversed that land following in Paweł Edmund Strzelecki's footsteps, for which he was awarded the prestigious Colossus prize in 2003.
Dominik Bac - a voyager, the captain on a yacht which sailed around both Americas; awarded with the first Cruise of the Year prize twice, and with the Colossus prize in the sailing category. A specialist in the area of native Latin America tribes.
This year, the special guest of the Explorer's Academy will be Arkady Paweł Fiedler - a voyager, a photographer, and a movie producer, who traversed Asia and Africa with a Fiat 126 P. His grandfather was Arkady Fiedler, a notable writer ("No. 303 Squadron RAF").
The classes are adjusted to the age of students on three education levels: pre-school, classes 1-4 of elementary school, classes 6-8 of elementary school, junior high school (grade 3) and high school.
