Field trip to the University of Silesia
On Thursday, September 21st, our high school students and their teachers participated in workshops organized by the University of Silesia in Katowice. The field trip was organized by Ms Marta Skwarek.
Students of 1, 2, and 0DP classes participated in three interesting lectures entitled "Peculiarities of the world of physics", which took place at the Institute of Physics. The topics of this year's lectures and presentations were different aspects of physics of heat, energy, and electromagnetism. The participants had a chance to see many interesting and often spectacular experiments, and to learn about (or recall) different applications of physics in the modern world.
At the same time, students of 1DP class of the IB Programme went to study in the Academic Library CINiBA. The Centre of Scientific Information and Academic Library is the common library of two universities in Katowice: the University of Economy and the University of Silesia, which makes it a unique institution in Poland. Students had a chance to see the materials available in the library and learnt how to make use of them.
That afternoon was a great occasion to experience some modern education and team building for the community of Wańkowicz.
