How to determine the acceleration with the mathematical pendulum?
Last week, eighth grade students determined the acceleration of earth with the help of a mathematical pendulum in physics lessons. For this purpose, they previously prepared a model of their mathematical pendulum and repeated the processed material concerning the vibrating motion. At the beginning of the lesson, each section was instructed by the teacher and started the experiment. In addition to the appropriate number of repetitions, the students had to statistically "process" the data and answer the questions contained in the instruction. Despite the level of the task, the students willingly participated in the experiment and handed the complete reports with satisfaction.
