Cold autumn? Nothing could be further from the truth! From 8 to 10 October, students in grades I-IV of the Polish Matura Programme swapped their school desks for Slovakian attractions! We had a fantastic three-day integration trip, full of adventures, laughter and, most importantly, opportunities to build our extraordinary high school community.

Day 1: Castle Secrets and Water Adventure

We began our Slovakian escapade on Wednesday, 8 October, with an early meeting and a trip to the magical Orava Castle. Divided into two groups, with a guide, we explored the history and secrets of one of the most beautiful castles in Slovakia. Did any of you remember how many parts Orava Castle consists of?

After the history lesson, it was time to relax and have fun! We moved to Tatralandia, where we stayed in charming cottages. The evening consisted of dinner at the Maladinovo Restaurant and... integration activities! It was the perfect moment to get to know each other better, especially for our first-year students.

Day 2: Adrenaline at the Aquapark and the charms of Ružomberok

The second day was pure madness! After breakfast, we spent the whole morning on the slides and in the pools of the Tatralandia Aquapark. Adrenaline and lots of laughter guaranteed!

After a well-deserved lunch, we set off to discover the charms of nearby Ružomberok. A walk around the town, supervised by our teachers, allowed us to soak up the Slovak atmosphere and relax a little. The evening ended with a dinner together and further integration activities – because, after all, the most important thing in our school is a strong and supportive community!

Day 3: Underground World and Return Home

On Friday, after checking out, a real gem awaited us: a tour of the breathtaking Demänovská Cave of Freedom (Jaskyne Slobody). It was a fascinating journey into the underground world of stalactites and stalagmites, which made a huge impression on everyone.

Leaving Slovakia and stopping for a meal gave us time for final conversations and summaries. We returned to Katowice in the afternoon, full of wonderful memories and with a new, even stronger bond.

Below you will find snapshots from our trip. See for yourselves how much fun we had getting to know Slovakia and... each other!
