Infrared and ultrasounds - thermovision and ultrasonography
Students of our high school who chose a medical or a mathematical-physical profile have a unique opportunity to study medical physics. During the classes taught by Ms Marta Skwarek, who graduated from Medical Physics at University of Silesia, they learn and try to understand the mechanisms of functioning of a human body, and they learn about the applications of physics in contemporary medicine. Diagnostics and therapy of many illnesses is based on physical phenomena and processes. The curriculum predicts practical workshops, too.
On November 9th, as part of the cooperation with Silesian Extramural Centre of Education and Interdisciplinary Studies (ŚMCEBI), students from Wańkowicz participated in workshops in the Institute of Medical Physics, and in modern biology and biotechnology labs of University of Silesia in Katowice. Everyone was very active and interested.
