“Twenty years from nowyou will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain

Travels educate the educated. From January 29th to February 10th, 2018, members of PTPI Katowice Students Chapter explored sunny California, scorched with heat even this time of the year. After 11 hours of flight and almost 20 hours of travelling, we landed in San Francisco, where GMC Yukon XL was awaiting us. It was our means of transport with which we travelled a few thousand kilometers. We started in Corte Madera, north of San Francisco, we visited Alcatraz, San Francisco itself, Yosemite National Park, Kern River Valley, the astonishing Death Valley with its Martian-like Zabriskie Point. Wonderful and exciting time in Las Vegas, a visit to the Grand Colorado Canyon or a walk through the Hoover Dam made us scream "wow" dozens of times. Then, our stay in Venice Beach, a stroll down the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, and the whole day spent at the Universal Studios. The time of our stay ended too soon. Full of memories, we boarded the Lufthansa super jumbo in Los Angeles and returned home safely. After the fabulous summerlike winter of California, we said hello to the autumnlike winter in Europe. Travelling is the only thing which makes us richer, even though we spend money on it.
