The Polish Independence Day
On November 10, 2015 our school community celebrated the Polish Independence Day. Students from all departments of the school (primary school, junior high school, CSIS and IB) gathered together in the assembly hall. The Independence Day, being an extremely significant event in the history of Poland, was honoured by a performance entitled "Waiting for History", written and directed by the history teachers, Ms Monika Czaja and Mr Marek Dykier. The roles of historical figures, both those contemporary and former ones, were played by students of our junior high school and high school. Musical setting was provided by the choir supervised by Ms Katarzyna Wróblewska. The scenery was prepared by Ms Małgorzata Andrysiak. The main theme of the performance was Polish history presented in a humorous way, because a history lesson does not have to be boring, even though serious topics are discussed. The efforts of the teachers and actors were awarded by the audience. The Headmistress delivered a speech in which she reminded us of the beautiful tradition of displaying the flag during national holidays. The ceremony was enriched by singing the national anthem, the anthem of the EU, and the anthems of the junior high school and high school. We would like to thank the entire school community for participating in the event. Congratulations to all those who made that day so special by preparing the magnificent performance - your creativity is impressive!
